Data Silos and the Death of Executive Truth
By JBS Praxis · Published Friday 6 March 2026
Summary
If your Board of Directors waits 30 days for a consolidated financial report, you are steering a multi-million dollar enterprise while blindfolded.
The problem
In most mid-to-large cap African enterprises, the tech stack is a warzone. Finance uses Sage. Logistics uses a custom legacy app. Procurement runs on massive, unstable Excel sheets. None of the APIs communicate.By the time the CEO reviews the dashboard, the numbers are weeks old. This blind spot is where inventory shrinkage, procurement fraud, and severe cash-flow bottlenecks thrive undetected.
What was done
We dismantle the silos. We architect a centralized, high-velocity PostgreSQL relational vault. We write custom ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines that pull raw data from every disparate legacy system into a Single Source of Truth. We structure this data using strict normalization protocols to eliminate redundancy.
The result
Reporting latency is reduced from 30 days to 0.5 seconds. The Boardroom no longer relies on sanitized updates from middle management; they operate on absolute truth.
